SCF were approached to assist in the cladding remediation works to the Pendleton Estate, there are 9no. properties as part of the estate, SCF were initially involved in the cost planning, design and construction of 2 of the properties but are hoping to secure further works on the site as the works to Beech and Holm conclude in early 2025.
SCF were provided with a comprehensive set of Employers Requirements (ER's) for the project, including indicative design calculations and drawings and existing building survey information. With this information we designed the cladding and substructure requirements from our facade engineers calculations and the indicative panel information confirmed within the ER's.

We carried out initial remedial works to floor slabs and window jambs where new EPDM was required to improve the weathering. Additional fixings ensured that all previously installed elements were secured and could be relied on for the next stage of installation.
We installed an A1-rated mineral Wool Rainscreen slab. As necessary, new full-fill and intumescent cavity barriers were installed on party walls, window/door openings, and floor slab positions to prevent fire from spreading externally.
Further, the helping hand bracketry was replaced with a new, fully calculated system to support the new A1-rated 3mm aluminium pre-coated cladding panel. We ensure that the full-through wall is compliant with the current building regulations.
